Sunset Sea
When a great wave is crashing over rocks
along the shore, I am reminded of how,
even though this big splash will last only
an instant, another one will be curling
and swirling up right behind it.
The things and people in our lives arrive
and vanish like the waves, but the sea
remains forever.
